For the last 20 years Derek has been mastering his craft in the arts of filmmaking and graphic design. His last position of employment was a six year tenure as Creative Director at Wick & Mortar where he helped the branding agency make history by winning awards for multiple cannabis brands (as seen in Forbes) and the short documentary A Humboldt Story. In 2022 Derek was invited to be a judge on the jury panel for the Clio Cannabis Awards. Since then, he's moved out of the city to connect with nature and start building a new life on his property in the mountains.

Derek is currently an independent contractor in Eastern Washington and open for business.
